Will Ismailbe' be handed over to the FBI?

News Update

Ismailbe', a threat to national security?

Male' - 15:00 - Ismailbe' was today taken to the 'new' torture chambers of police in Atholhuvehi, where late Hussain Salah was murdered earlier this month. Police just went to Ismailbe's house without notice and took him away for interrogation, without a lawyer. He was asked how many children he has and that was all. Experts believe that the interrogation is more psychological in nature and it is likely that Ismailbe' will be handed over to FBI, who will most probably take him away to Guantanamo Bay. "It is quite possible that Ismailbe' is involved in terrorism activities worldwide and hence a threat to the world at large, not just the Maldives", said a senior policeman. "We have to be very careful with these terrorists", he added further. Ismailbe' was also interrogated yesterday by chief torturer Adam Zahir personally, which indicates that this case is quite serious in nature. According to our sources, Ismailbe' told police yesterday that he has nothing to say and that it is the police who murder and kill people and not him. Ismailbe' doesn't really know the meaning of terrorism, so he could not comment on the charges. Ismailbe' (Ismail Mohamed) is 80 years old and works as a messenger at the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) office in Male'. He was arrested yesterday whilst distributing prints of the statement made by Hussain Salah's family, who was murdered by Maldives Police on 15th April.

Ismailbe, continue your fight for your right to free your country from the grip of the Golhaa. With the courage of people like you who stand up against dictatorship in Maldives - this will finish soon. InshAllah.

If you are a DRP member and you commit a crime, you are given the President Pardon..If you are a MDP member you are taken to Jail and called a Reformist..Even if that MDP member was caught red handed selling drugs or even if he has killed someone..You will either become a Reporter or Photographer..What a shame

I doubt that Ismail Be would come back alive. He may be found floating in the sea, a bit far from the Atholhuvehi this time. It is unfortunate that the the Maldives police and government of golhaa is trying to cover up the murder committed by the police. There is not the slightest doubt in the minds of the people that Salah was killed by the police and no body else. Salah's was not the only body found discarded after killing, but no one has ever been so suspiciously handled by the police, definitely not for any reason. The police attempted to bury Salah's body onl their own; washed his clothes seized them; failed to hand over the body to the family for postportem examination for the police by now was the prime suspect of the crime; the postmortem was orchestrated to conceal the truth; denied a second opinion to the family; denied the body to the family deprived them scared that a second postmortem may be done and evidence of the poice crime would be unveiled. All these are acts that beget them suspicion. They could not in respect of Salah's body take a single that is in their favour. If the police had not killed Salah, they would have allowed the family conduct all sorts of medical tests and examination to find out the killers and would have further helped the family by seriously starting investigation into the mysterious killing. Still, the police is making press statements to intimidate members of public who speculate on Salah's death. They have not resorted to showing that they are free from the blame, because they can't. Maldives police and the government of the Maldives are the killers of Salah. I wish they don't kill Ismail Be. If they do, they could possibly not escape this time.
